Democratic Attorney General candidate, Jesse Laslovich, was at the State Capitol today to announce his campaign and declare a major legislative initiative if elected.

Laslovich, who is a consumer protection lawyer, says he plans on running a campaign focused on the protection of Montanans with an emphasis on children and senior citizens. Laslovich explained the child criminal endangerment initiative which looks to create more penalties for those who drive drunk with kids in the car.

Laslovich says, "Under my legislation the offender may be charged with a felony whether it's their first offense, second, third or fourth. If they blow over twice the legal limit they'll spend some time behind bars and they must also successfully undergo in-patient alcohol treatment."

Laslovich is running against fellow democrat Pam Bucy, along with republican candidates Jim Shockley and Tim Fox.
