Responsible for all the technical facilities and equipment in the television station; Responsible for the operation and maintenance of station transmitters and transmitter site; Accountable for on-the-air picture quality and performance; Supervise maintenance engineers; Operate technical equipment such as measurement, video/audio Switchers, satellite reception and transmission; Establish standard operating procedures outlining/defining technical quality desired; Responsible for Phone System, Computers/Network; Set up and provide remote shots via microwave/ENG Truck Purchase necessary equipment and supplies to sustain normal operations; Develop and maintain control of an approved budget; Establish a training program to increase the knowledge and expertise of engineers/operating personnel; Remain abreast of the latest advances in the electronic field relating to broadcasting; Be available "on-call" 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for any engineering problems; and Work cooperatively with staff engineers and other departments Perform other tasks related to the position as assigned.

Requirements:

General administrative skills; Technical management of maintenance facility experience; Personnel management and training experience; Knowledge in broadcast systems – Digital HD, SD and NTSC Ability to work unsupervised Possess a valid Montana Driver’s License Pass Pre-Employment Drug Test FCC general radiotelephone and/or SBE certification preferred but not necessary Computer and Network knowledge, Phone System experience is a plus; Explicit hands on repair and maintenance experience; Familiarity with all technical equipment in a television station; and Television transmitter and maintenance and repair experience.
