Lifestyles: Reporter Life
Our reporters here at Beartooth NBC work hard every day to bring you the latest news in Helena and the surrounding area.
In this week's Lifestyles Report, Beartooth NBC's Jill Jagelski takes a closer look at how our reporters create their stories.
Beartooth NBC’s Jill Jagelski says, "For this week's Lifestyles Report I want to show you the viewer what it's like to be a reporter here at BNBC. Today I followed Charlie Misra and Kelley Smith around for a behind the scenes look at the hectic life of a multi-media journalist.
At the start of each day, Beartooth NBC reporters receive their story assignments. For Reporter Charlie Misra, his day begins at 8:00 am, before he heads out to his story, he always makes sure he is camera ready. But Charlie can't waste too much time. He has to work quickly in order to make a 5:00 pm deadline.
Beartooth NBC’s Charlie Misra says, "Today, let's see, I believe I have 4 stories today, so I guess that's a standard work load, having 4 things to turn in."
Four stories in one day, Charlie says that's pretty typical for him.
Beartooth NBC’s Charlie Misra says, "It comes with the territory, it's something you have to do and you get used to it, and something I have gotten used to."
Night side Reporter Kelley Smith doesn't waste any time once she has arrived. Just like Charlie, Kelley has a lot on her agenda for the day.
Beartooth NBC’s Kelley Smith says, "So I have 2 stories I am working on plus sweeps, so I am out the door, so I guess I will catch you later!"
While Kelley heads out the door, Charlie has arrived back at the station and is ready to write his first story.
