For this Carroll College student going to class and completing assignments isn't enough.

Junior Tyler Skidmore has been the president of the Enactus club at Carroll College for the past year dedicating his weekends to hosting food drives to support the Helena food share and its clients.

"It actually gets you out in the community, you're learning to write grants, kind of business skills that take your classroom education and apply it to the community."

The main mission of the club is to prepare the next generation of entrepreneurs and business leaders to create a better world.

Skidmore is currently focused on the 'Let’s Can Hunger Project.'

"It’s sponsored by the Campbell Soup Company, basically our goal is to raise five thousand pounds of food what we will donate it to the Helena food share."

Skidmore says the project became a reality thanks to a $1500 grant the club received from Campbell soup.

And through his experience with the club, he says he has learned a great deal about what it takes to be a true leader.

"Personally it’s given me a whole new kind of perspective to manage and lead a team."

Skidmore's willingness to go above and beyond to serve the Helena community is what makes him a class act.
