Big Sky Chronicles: Montana Masonic Museum
The Montana Masonic Museum chronicles the history of one of the oldest organizations in the state.
The museum and library houses artifacts documenting the history of the Masons in Montana. But it also displays pieces important to Helena history, state history, and national history.
The Freemasons, often confused for a secret society, is the oldest fraternal organization in the world, and many key players in history were members.
Museum Curator Reid Gardiner says, "Any number of the things we see and take for granted in the state today had some connection with an individual who was a mason."
The museum and library are open to the public Monday through Friday.
